IT’S FINALLY HERE!!! The First Annual Merryhill Harvest Festival and Craft Fair is this weekend!!
Please join us on this Saturday November 16th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Reed Intermediate School in Newtown for a day filled with fun for the whole family. Why not get your shopping done early this year? Start your day by visiting the booths of over 45 vendors from all over CT and beyond. They will be selling a variety of products from purses to American Doll clothes to gourmet olive oils. There is sure to be something for everyone on your holiday shopping list.
While you are shopping your kids can get involved with one of the many fun activities we have planned. There will be an inflatable slide for them to use and get some of that pent up energy out. Have your children make some crafts that they can give out as holiday gifts in our Santa’s workshop. For a very small fee (ranging from $1 to $3) they can design a tile with their handprint, a bracelet or necklace, or maybe a foam picture frame.
Have you had a chance to visit the Ever Wonder Experience on Pecks Lane in Newtown yet? If not come and meet them and see what they are all about. The Ever Wonder Children’s Museum will be joining us on November 16th. They will have a whole area dedicated to a variety of fun and exciting science projects for the kids to enjoy. Visit their website at www.everwondermuseum.com to learn more about this wonderful organization.
If you haven’t had your Amber Alert ID card updated in a while please stop by and let the Danbury Rotary Club update it for you. By registering, your child’s essential ID information is encrypted and sent to a secure national AMBER Alert data base, and it is recorded on a wallet size card (one free card; additional cards $2) that parents can provide to police in the event of a disappearance to speed up having an AMBER Alert issued. Everyone is encouraged to update children annually. For additional information visit www.danburyrotary.org or www.amberchildid.org.
Tractor Mac will be in attendance as well. He will be sitting outside the front doors for all to see. Creator, illustrator, and author Billy Steers will be at the event selling all sorts of products including his newest book. He will do book signings as well as a couple demonstrations for the kids.
If you are hungry why not stop at the Taste of Newtown where a handful of local restaurants will be selling some of their favorite dishes. Have a snack or lunch. Your taste buds will thank you.
Join us on Saturday November 16th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Reed Intermediate School and you will not be disappointed. We hope to see you there!!
